Troop 77 - New Scout Welcome Weekend at Inks Lake State Park

When: Friday, 2/18/2000 through Monday, 2/21/2000
Where: Inks Lake State Park, near Burnet, Texas (512-793-2223).  We have two "water only" campsites reserved.
Purpose:

The purpose of this campout is to:

  1. Have Scouting fun.
  2. Get acquainted.
  3. Work on advancement requirements for Tenderfoot.
  4. Work on advancement requirements for Second and First Class according to need and opportunity.
Cost: $10 per person to cover use of park and campsite only.  (Bring your own food.)
Equipment: You will need gear for COLD weather.  Remember our Griffith League Ranch campout!  The weather could even be wet and cold. So: "Be Prepared."

Page 224 for your personal overnight gear
Page 226 for Patrol gear

Food: For Friday supper, eat before departure at home or Burger King, or bring your own sack lunch.  Bring your own food for the entire weekend. The Patrol / Buddy system will be used for Scouts.  Parents are on their own.

Saturday’s menu for Scouts - In order to satisfy Tenderfoot requirements, the Patrol Leader and Asst. Patrol Leader will demonstrate and the other Scouts will prepare their own meals as follows:

Breakfast - Breakfast tacos
Lunch - Sandwiches / crackers
Supper - Hot dogs, etc.

Sunday & Monday - Patrol / Buddy System cooking.  If you want to satisfy the cooking requirements for Second and First Class, plan your meals and duties accordingly.

5:45 p.m. Meet at JRS Exxon convenience store, Hwy 1431 & Lohman Ford Rd.
6:00 p.m. Depart.  Route: Hwy 1431 west to Marble Falls, north on Hwy 281, west on Park Road 4 to Inks Lake State Park.
7:30 p.m. Arrive and set up camp.

Saturday, February 19
